From the highly anticipated 2007 vintage, we are thrilled to present the newest release of our flagship estate cabernet. The 2007 growing season began cool and dry but warmed quickly in spring and led to an early bud break. Summer temperatures continued to be mild to moderate resulting in a steady growing season and concentrated flavor development in the berries. A warm September accelerated ripening and our 29 Estate cabernet was harvested in early October. Fermentation occurred in our Radoux French oak tanks providing seamless oak integration and enhancing supple, yet sinuous, tannins, a hallmark of the 2007 vintage.
Opening with a sultry mix of dark cherries, smooth chocolate mingled with tobacco leaves, creosote and crushed stone, this wine is as generous and giving as it is elegant and sophisticated. On the palate, ripe red fruits, cracked black pepper, exotic spices and graphite complete this vibrant, complex and expressive wine. We believe that it is the length of the finish that takes a good wine to an extraordinary one and silky tannins continue to tell this wine’s story long after the last sip is taken.
“Superbly concentrated with impeccable purity and balance, this full-bodied wine is one of both power and elegance” says Robert Parker. “Refined and gracious… this 2007 should easily last for 20-25 years.”
